The Jobtalk is a forum of exchange between alumni and students. This time, we are inviting alumni of English and American Studies to talk about their careers and enter into discussion with the participants.
The experiences from graduates will give you first-hand information on
?... how they started their careers.
?... the significance of their field of study.
?... what their professional profile looks like today.
?... what skills and abilities students should have in addition to their degree.
?... how students can kick-start their careers and what job options they have.

Information event for state exams (English): Monday, May 26, 2025 in Lecture Hall IV (Building C) from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Have you just started your first semester in a teaching degree program with English as a subject or are you on the home stretch of your advanced teaching degree? Then you've come to the right place! The Department of English and American Studies is hosting a general information event on the state examination in English. Student teachers of all semesters are cordially invited to get an overview of relevant information on the state examination in English. The event requires no registration. Date: May 26, 2025, Time: 5:30 - 7:00 pm, Location: C-Building, Lecture Hall IV (you can find the flyer for the event in the download section below).

21st Century Solutions from No Man's Land: A Framework for a More Sustainable Planet from Ancient Africa - Tsitsi Dangarembga in Augsburg (Lecture Series at the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum)

During the summer term 2025, author and director Tsitsi Dangarembga will give a series of lectures (in English) on "21st Century Solutions from No Man's Land: A Framework for a More Sustainable Planet from Ancient Africa" hosted by the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum.

- June 6, 2025, 10.00 / Workshop for Master students and PhD candidates at the University of Augsburg, Building D, Room 4056.
- 24. Juni 2025, 18.30 / Lecture at the Rokokosaal der Regierung von Schwaben, Fronhof 10, 86152 Augsburg: Ubuntu 2.0: Five Ways of Being for a More Sustainable Future.
